Life Lesson #32 of my first 40 years: This too shall pass.
Life Lesson #32: This too shall pass.
One of the greatest and most inspirational books I have ever read is Og Mandino’s “The Greatest Salesman in the World” – it was first printed over 50 years ago and his wisdom still holds true as much today as it did then.
One of the phrases he encourages the reader to learn, embrace, and use is this: “This too shall pass.”
You are going to have tough challenges, negative people, and bad days in your life – so instead of focusing on the pain and hurt – choose to remind yourself that “This too shall pass.” Tomorrow is a new day with a new opportunity to begin anew.
One of the other secrets that Og has taught me from this scroll (chapter) is to incorporate laughter/humor/fun into my life – even in stressful situations. He states that, “I will laugh at the world. And with my laughter all things will be reduced to their proper size.”
How many times have we made too big of a deal of things that really didn’t deserve that level of energy?
As he states in this book, “Man is most comical when he takes himself too seriously.”
Isn’t that the truth?!?!?!
Take your life seriously, but not to the point where you are overly stressed and not being yourself. I have found that when I remind myself to laugh at myself, relax, and to embrace that “This too shall pass” – I am able to get through things as effective and efficient as possible.
